Job Summary: We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Manufacturing Plant Manager to oversee and manage all aspects of our production facility. The Plant Manager will be responsible for ensuring that manufacturing operations run efficiently, meet quality standards, and achieve production targets. This role requires strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of manufacturing processes, and the ability to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operations Management: Oversee day-to-day manufacturing operations, ensuring that production schedules are met, and products are manufactured to the highest quality standards.
- Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and manage a team of production supervisors, operators, and support staff. Foster a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
- Production Planning: Develop and implement production plans, including resource allocation, equipment utilization, and labor management, to meet production goals and customer demands.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure that all products meet or exceed quality standards. Work closely with the QA department to identify and resolve quality issues and implement corrective actions.
- Process Improvement: Identify areas for process optimization and efficiency improvements. Lead continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, or other methodologies.
- Safety Management: Ensure a safe working environment by enforcing safety protocols, conducting regular safety audits, and promoting a culture of safety throughout the plant.
- Cost Control: Manage the plant’s budget, controlling costs related to labor, materials, and overhead. Implement cost-saving measures without compromising quality or safety.
- Maintenance Oversight: Ensure that all plant equipment is properly maintained and in good working condition. Coordinate with the maintenance team to schedule repairs and preventive maintenance.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations related to manufacturing, safety, and environmental standards.
- Reporting: Provide regular reports on production performance, quality metrics, safety incidents, and other key performance indicators to senior management.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Engineering, Industrial Management, or a related field.
- 7+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment, with at least 3 years in a managerial or leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, production planning, and quality control.
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a high-performing team.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, with a focus on safety, quality, and efficiency.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments.
- Proficiency in manufacturing software and systems (e.g., ERP, MES).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA) or a related field.
- Certifications in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma (e.g., Green Belt, Black Belt).
- Experience in a specific industry (e.g., automotive, electronics, food processing) may be required or preferred based on the company’s focus.
